WLHS February 2010 Scholarship Newsletter
SCHOLARSHIPS THAT REQUIRE A NOMINATION: Students who wish to be nominated for a particular scholarship must submit the following to Mrs. Pashigian by the posted deadline:
1. A resume for each of the scholarship you wish to be considered for 2. Complete and return the required application/essay (if applicable)
The Student Recognition Committee will consider the qualifications/eligibility of all the students who wish to be nominated and make the final selection.
– Scholarship Name: Columbia Foundation – Karen and Howard Carolan Amount: $1,000 Eligibility Requirements: Have participated in the Howard County Youth Program. Download application from: www.columbiafoundation.org (also available in Student Services Office) Submit: 1) completed application; 2) essay; 3) recommendations; To Ms. Pashigian by: Thurs. March 18, 2010 (only one finalist will be selected)
– Scholarship Name: Columbia Foundation – Ernesto Phillips for Talented Youth Amount: $500 Eligibility Requirements: 3.0 GPA through grade 11; 3.0 first semester of 12th grade. Download application from: www.columbiafoundation.org (also available in Student Services Office) Submit: 1) completed application; 2) essay; 3) recommendations; To Ms. Pashigian by: Thurs. March 18, 2010 (only one finalist will be selected)
– Scholarship Name: Columbia Foundation – Doug Parker Scholarship Amount: $2,500 Eligibility Requirements: 3.0 GPA through grade 11; 3.0 first semester of 12th grade. – Scholarship Name: Columbia Foundation – Tropf Family Scholarships Amount: $1,000 Eligibility Requirements: 3.0 GPA through first semester of 12th grade; interested in studying math, physical sciences, or engineering at a four-year college or university Download application from: www.columbiafoundation.org (also available in Student Services Office) Submit: 1) completed application; 2) essay; 3) recommendations; 4) resume which includes achievements in science and math to Ms. Pashigian by: Thurs.
